You do not have to kiss or have sex with anyone to have a canker sore or a cold sore. With cold sores you can contract them as a result of your body trying to fight off viral infection. Canker sores--are mouth ulcers...they can be result of hormonal change, stress, dietary deficiencies, etc. You treat canker sores with antibiotics, such as Nystatin which is also used to treat thrush.
