Jenn asked:
Whatever it is, its right in front of where my lips meet on my bottom lip. It looks the way a canker sore is described but it’s on the outside of my mouth… So what is it and how do I get rid of it QUICK! (I’ve been using carmex and rinsing it with glyoxide every few hours. Since Wednesday… the one in my mouth went away but no luck with my lip) HELP!

Canker sores are ulcers. That means it’s open. A fever blister is closed, with a clear covering on the top.
Canker sores occur within the mouth, whereas fever blisters (hepes virus blister) can occur anywhere.
Type 1 herpes simplex is anything away from the genitals. Type 2 is the same thing, but on the genitals.
Herpes can occur inside the mouth, but has a top covering, whereas a canker sore (an ulcer) is open.
Look closely, herpes (fever blister) frequently occurs in a cluster of small blisters on the lip and outer edge of the mouth.
Be very careful. Don’t stratch the blisters. Herpes is a highly contagious virual infection. It can be transferred to your hand, then to other parts of your body, including your genital area.
Once you have it, you’ll have it forever. But, it can go dormant for weeks, months and years. While some people may have only a single outbreak of herpes, other people will have repeated outbreaks. Medication can help reduce the number and severity of herpes outbreaks, but it cannot eliminate the infection.
That’s because all viruses live within your body cells. However, if you get medical treatment now, you may never have the infection reoccur for years.
During periods of excitment (stress) herpes typically reappears. Stress can include good things like a new house or bad things like a death in the family.
Many people who have herpes don’t have active symptoms. But, transmittal can occur before, during and for several days after the blisters disappear.
However, you may want to check your boyfriend. The location you describe is typical of herpes transmitted during kissing or sexual activity. If your boyfriend has herpes, you probably got it from him.
But, you can also get it from using someone elses lipstick, towel, clothing, and even shaking hands with another person.
To get an idea of the nature of herpes, go to Google, cllick on Images, and type in Herpes simplex. The photos will help you appreciate the need for good hygiene when dealing this this ailment. Good luck.
