I got one canker sore, and now my GF doesn’t want to get near me. What can I do?

The first time I ever got a canker sore was when I got braces. Every time I went to the dentist to have my braces tighten, I would get a canker sore the days after. I was so scared the first time, I got checked, and the results came out negative. I didn’t have either herpes simplex which is the type most people have or the genital type. I’ve haven’t had braces in 4 years, and coincidentally, I haven’t had a canker sore in 4 years. I went to the dentist last week, and she told me I needed some fillings, I got the fillings. Two days ago I began getting this burning sensation, and yesterday, it happened. I have a canker sore right next to the tooth I had work done. Wikipedia says the physical trauma from dentistry can lead to canker sores. I’ve explained all this to my GF, but she still acts like I have some sort of sexually transmitted disease. What can I do?

Go to the doctor and get checked, but in the mean time if it hurts, go buy some carmex! that really helps with any kind of pain that involves the mouth!
