Canker Sore Mouth

I had my two bottom wisdom teeth out on monday and things are finally starting to get back to normal, but yesterday I noticed that there are two canker sore type bumps on my cheeks by the removal site and they are making things difficult. It hurts to eat still, and I have a bit of an ear ache. I was given tylenol #3 for pain, and I haven’t had to take it much yesterday or today but these bumps hurt. Are they normal or should I get it checked out?

Well, i’ve been eating them a lot until now and that made me wonder WHY i shouldnt be eating them?

Does it make the canker sore worse? or is it just because it stings when you eat these foods so people advise others to stay away from it?

Update: 3 days later.

So I think it finally has made a turn for the better at about day 11. The edges grew in slightly (less white area), the white area turned more yellow, and it got flatter as one poster mentioned. It still hurts like a swear word, but hopefully it’ll end soon.

On a side note, orajel mouth sore tablets (they stick to the sore and have benzocaine) are AMAZING. They last at least six hours, even with drinking, etc. Worth a shot if you are in pain.

I know in some situations doctors will postpone a surgery in the mouth area if there are cold sores i think because they don’t want to risk spreading bacteria or something of that sort. The sore is very close to a sharp point in my braces where I often develop canker sores, except this is not a canker sore, and it is much larger. I am hoping it’s not STD related as a lot of websites are leading me to believe. I doubt it is as I am barely active and this is the first one I have ever had.
