How do you rid of a canker sore?

I have a monstrous and terribly painful canker sore on my lip (on the inside of my mouth obviously).
I’ve tried listerine mouthwash,
swishing hydrogen peroxide,
gargling salt water.

every traditional method.
It was so painful yesterday that I actually put a tissue in my mouth so it wouldn’t rub on my teeth.
what to you do to rid of the pesky sores?
(please keep in mind that I have only typical house-hold products, and no mode of transportation to a store)
