Can you really put salt on a canker sore?

I read that if you put salt on it it hurts then it goes away in like 10 minutes. can you really do that? I’m just makeing sure it won’t do any damage.

I don’t know if it will go away, but a salt gargle (salt water) will cleanse it well.

My mouthand it will helppbut you have to do is mix bit of salt and hottish water in row.

I don’t think that will do any damage, but it will hurt like hell. Canker sores are caused by a virus so the only thing that might do is dry it out and make it less visible.
